Background:
MAGNET has been successfully serving Northeast Ohio manufacturers for 25 years and continues to show its dedication to advancing manufacturing by introducing new services like the ecoSMART Sustainable Manufacturing Program launched in 2009.
As part of this program, MAGNET has developed an ecoDesign and Development service and recently partnered with Sustainable Minds, a Cambridge, MA company specializing in the integration of product design, life cycle assessment and environmental systems design. This partnership brings together a professional team of industry experts in sustainability, LCA, product design, engineering, and manufacturing. (See MAGNET's February 2, 2010 press release.)
Sustainable Minds helps manufacturers bring environmental sustainability to mainstream product development and manufacturing. This Web-based software enables rapid iteration and comparison of new product concepts. Companies who purchase annual subscriptions to Sustainable Minds receive quantified environmental performance information during the design process. This allows the developers to make informed design and manufacturing trade-off decisions during the development process.
MAGNET's ecoSMART Manufacturing Program offers Northern Ohio manufacturers a discounted annual subscription to Sustainable Minds software as well as hands-on training for your staff. At the workshop you and your staff can learn how to use Sustainable Minds to develop greener product design practices and strategies.
Program Discounts:
When your company's designers and engineers access Sustainable Minds through MAGNET's ecoSMART Manufacturing Program, your company will receive a 10% discount per subscription on the annual subscription fee of $700.
In addition to the 10% discount, MAGNET will provide eight (8) hours of senior engineering support to all companies purchasing Sustainable Minds through the ecoSMART Manufacturing Program. These engineering services include engineering assistance to help you define the scope of your project or review your process and results as well as offer recommendations on how to integrate ecoDesign and life-cycle assessment into your design process.
